Graded care packages ranging from cottage style assisted living to a model that emulates a homelike environment.
These long term care options encourage social inclusion in urban and rural communities, with over 200 individuals benefiting from these eco-systems across 2 states: Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
The ‘spiritual hub’ of The Banyan (as coined by one of its visitors), the Community Living Project is a place of harmony and acceptance for long-stay residents who are unable to return to their communities for a variety of reasons. Here the women live together in cottages, supporting one another and contributing to the running of the facility. They undertake daily activities; producing bags for the shop, cooking and cleaning as well as engaging in therapeutic pursuits such as gardening and yoga. The contentment of the residents is satisfying and makes this welcoming project a joy to visit.
